Five in One Endpoint Protection from Symantec
Organisations today face a threat landscape that involves silent, targeted, and financially motivated attacks that exploit vulnerabilities in endpoint devices. Many of these sophisticated threats can evade traditional security solutions, leaving organizations vulnerable to data theft, disruption of business-critical services, and damage to corporate brand and reputation.
Symantec Endpoint Protection is more than just antivirus - it takes a holistic approach to protecting laptops, desktops, and servers. It combines antivirus, anti-spyware, desktop firewall, intrusion prevention services (IPS) and device control modules to protect against known and new threats, including viruses, worms, Trojan horses, spyware, adware, rootkits, and zero-day attacks.
Features your engineers will like:
| • | Single agent – single management console. The standard suite of products, antivirus, anti-spyware, IPS and firewall comes in a single deployable agent that can be administered from a central management console. |
| • | Administrators can easily disable or enable any of these technologies based on individual needs. For example, if you are not ready for the IPS & Device Control features, it can be activated when required. |
| • | Does not solely rely on signature based updates. It can automatically analyse application behaviours and network communications to detect and block suspicious activities, as well as administrative control features that deny specific device and application activities that have been defined as high risk. You can even block specific actions based on the location of the user. |
| • | The memory footprint of Version 11 only takes up 21 MB – much less than previous versions |
| • | The Network Access Control feature ensures that unmanaged desktops, laptops, VPN users etc meet a required standard of security – e.g., patches up-to-date, Antivirus up to date etc. This feature can be turned on with an additional activation fee. |
Features management will like:
| • | Device Control is a feature that many companies have been asking for – it is now here at no additional cost. You can now determine and control what devices are allowed to attach to an endpoint. It can lock down an endpoint, for example, preventing USB drives, CD burners, printers, and other USB devices from being used to copy confidential data from the system. Its ability to block device connections can also help prevent endpoints from being infected by viruses spread from these types of devices and others. |
| • | Application control technology allows administrators to control access to specific processes, files, and folders by users and other applications. It provides application analysis, process control, file and registry access control, and module and DLL control. This advanced capability is useful for administrators who want to restrict certain activities deemed as suspicious or high risk. |
| • | Version 11 is the same price as earlier versions… so you get additional technologies for free. |
| • | Retail pricing for a minimum quantity of 5 licenses is about $77 ex GST per user. Email us for your newsletter buy! |
