* LTO4 technology
Is your preferred backup media still tape? Then you should take a serious look the advantages that LTO 4 provides, such as the doubling of the storage capacity of LTO 3, improved transfer rates and encryption capabilities. LTO4 features 1.6 terabytes compressed capacity and transfer speeds of up to 240 megabytes per second. For additional protection, the generation 4 format will allow hardware-based writing of encrypted data to the tape cartridge.
Linear Tape-Open (LTO) technology is a powerful, scalable, adaptable open tape format developed and continuously enhanced by multiple technology providers like HP, IBM Corporation and Quantum Corporation. It is designed to deliver performance, capacity and reliability with the advantages of linear multi-channel, bi-directional formats with enhancements in servo technology, data compression, track layout and error correction.
EOFY Special (if you are already using LTO4 equipment) on HP Ultrium 800/1600GB RW data cartridge, on a minimum quantity of 10 - $105 ex GST each (RRP $149). If your current backup is causing problems or needs upgrading, we can advise you on what is right for you.
* NAS
We are seeing more and more businesses opt for NAS (Network attached Storage). Small and medium sized businesses are feeling the crunch caused by growing volumes of data. Much of the storage growth is driven by unstructured files, such as rich media, productivity documents, backup files, and other information accessed by end-users. Simple and flexible network attached storage (NAS) solutions are the answer to optimising your file storage and searching. A dedicated and optimised file serving solution consolidates file storage to improve performance, simplify management, and increase efficiency. Network storage is accessible to all computers that can access the network which makes it easier to centrally scale and protect.
